For over 25 years, Stenberg College has been helping students both locally and internationally get an exceptional education and a career they love in Canada. The College offers programs in health care, education, human services, and business and boasts state of the art training facilities and wide-reaching industry partnerships, making it one of the top private colleges in the country.
Not only are they recognized and accredited by the B.C. government’s Ministry of Advanced Education through the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB), they are also authorized by EduCanada, the official Government of Canada resource for international students. And, for those international students who are determined to forge their own path in Canada, Stenberg College offers post-graduation pathways to the British Columbia Institute of Technology and Yorkville University.
Stenberg College has been a long time client of Emily Chow Marketing. It started off with HubSpot, Facebook Ads, and Google Analytics training and slowly morphed into an ongoing relationship where we became an extension of their team. So, when they came to us to help them conceptualize, design, and build a brand new website with the sole purpose of capturing more of the international student market, we were ready to go.
Their main goal: To reach a younger demographic of prospective students in Mexico, India, and the Philippines with a bold, lightning fast, interactive website and mobile experience.
This was a more complex site design and build that required us to take a step back and do a deeper dive into the performance of the existing website. If we’re going to create an engaging website, we need to know what’s worked in the past and what clearly hasn’t. We reviewed the site analytics and determined the bounce rate was high and the time on site was low. People just weren’t engaged.
We pulled in our top designer and developer and created a home page design that paired brighter, more modern colors with youthful, eye-catching photography to shine a spotlight on the diversity of the college. Each page was structured like a landing page and highlighted the school’s story, key benefits, grad testimonials, and continuing education pathways — all the most important information a prospective student would need to take that next step. An intuitive “Ask an Advisor” slide-in contact form as well as interactive swirls bring movement and a contemporary flair to the site.
It was just as we’d hoped! Not even a month after the launch, the new Stenberg International website saw decreased bounce rate and an increase in contact form fills (#HelloConversions)!
The user flow through the home page also increased by 22% and were being funneled to the main Programs page. The senior leadership team at the college was impressed with us all around and are big fans of the design, functionality, and most importantly, the performance statistics. The numbers speak for themselves, Folks.
