When writer’s block strikes, you can start to feel the fear. Staring at a blank page is no fun, and the longer it goes on, the harder it can feel to snap out of it and start generating that content gold again.
If you’re struggling to come up with some fresh content, I’ve got your back. Once you get into the flow, generating new ideas can be easy, fun, and lead to some killer content!
I’ve put together some of my favourite places to find inspiration, and give an insight into what your ideal clients might be searching for when they head online. That way you can start creating content you KNOW they are craving.
Answer The Public
AnswerThePublic is the ultimate go-to tool that lays out your audience’s every curiosity. This gem simplifies the process of finding specific concerns that your target audience has, and are searching for online. Just type in a keyword like “content marketing strategy,” and you’ll unlock a treasure trove of questions related to the topic. If you switch to the “Data” viewing option, you’ll see all queries neatly categorized into comparisons, and related topics. It’s like having a content idea generator in your back pocket, literally.
So, I know we all understand the power of social media, BUT have you ever tapped into social media groups? Facebook and LinkedIn both host groups that are basically virtual hangouts where people discuss their passions, interests, and industries. Seek out groups that foster meaningful discussions rather than mindless article sharing, and you’ll soo find the groups buzzing with people asking all sorts of questions and answers…that you can then use to create content. Your audience will feel like you’re reading their minds…because you kind of are.
Poll Your Community
This may seem self-explanatory…but how often do you actually ASK your audience questions? Be sure to scour your DMs and comments for any questions or problems your audience is talking about, and even throw polls onto stories asking about people’s main problems! This is a super easy and straightforward way to be given a ton of content ideas, and instead of playing the guessing game, you KNOW your audience wants what you’re putting down.
Repurpose Your Own Gold
Sometimes, inspiration is sitting right under your nose. Take a stroll down memory lane and revisit your most popular posts, give them a little nip and tuck, then send them back out into the world! Sometimes the best method is to work smarter, and not harder, so repurpose your previous content that was super popular.
That’s it friends! My favourite tried and true ways to generate some awesome content that connects with your ideal audience, and provides some stellar value. Still feeling lost when it comes to creating content? That’s ok! Book a consultation with me and we’ll figure it out together.
